Following the successful delivery of MEE-NTSD static converter for the ICM InterCity fleet of the Dutch Railways, SMA Railway Technology GmbH has been selected to provide the static converters for the DDZ. The DDZ is a four- to six-car double-decker EMU that will receive a new redundant auxiliary power converter with increased power rating using two independent MEE-NTSD static converters per trainset combined into a single frame and installed in a power car. Deliveries will start in summer 2010. The complete overhaul of the vehicle will be done by NedTrain in Haarlem (Netherlands)
