Following the successful delivery of MEE-NTSD Static Converter for the ICM InterCity fleet of the Dutch Railways, SMA Railway Technology GmbH has been selected to provided the Static Converters for the DDAR. The DDAR is a four- to six-car Double-Decker EMU that will receive a new redundant auxiliary power supply with increased power rating using two independent MEE-NTSD Static Converters per trainset combined into a single frame and installed in a power car. Deliveries will start in summer 2010. The complete overhaul of the vehicle will be done by NedTrain in Haarlem (Netherlands)
