Currently, the largest university for women in the Arab world in Riyadh is being built. The subway system will be provided by the Italian manufacturer AnsaldoBreda. The two-unit railcars are fully automatic: They will carry passengers without a driver. Because of the climate in Saudi Arabia, air-conditioners which are built by Webasto are particularly important. SMA provides the required converters for the air-conditioning. The first metro will go on a test run in the fall of 2010. Only one year later all railcars will be delivered.
