Right to the official celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German government will rebuild 12 coaches into a Science Express. The Science Express delivers multimedia-based information regarding the state of the art of research and science in Germany. In totally, SMA delivers 12 converters that will supply the air conditioning systems and the multimedia-based equipment in the train. The converters are mounted in underfloor-containers and are operated with 1,000 V, 16 2/3 Hz. Already in April, the Science Express will pass through the Republic as a touring exhibition
