Andreas Berger studied electrical engineering in Schmalkalden and Ilmenau (Germany). After graduation he started as development engineer for SMA in 1999. In 2002, Andreas Berger became head of railway engineering. Since 2008 Andreas Berger has been General Manager of SMA Railway Technology GmbH and responsible for research and development and service.

Alexander Schmidt graduated at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the field of energy and production processes in Hanover. Before becoming Vice President at SMA Railway Technology GmbH, he held various management positions at Robert Bosch GmbH in Hildesheim. Alexander Schmidt has been a member of the Management Board and responsible for the Operations Division since April 2012.

Birgit Wilde studied electrical engineering at the University of Rostock. In 1995, after completing her studies she started working at SMA and built up the sales and distribution department of the railway engineering division. She became part of the railway engineering management board in 2002. In 2008, Birgit Wilde was appointed general manager of SMA Railway Technology GmbH, focusing on business development.
